PROGRAM / PAPERSThe organisers have made a deliberate attempt to create a technical program that appeals to all spatial professionals and rather than just the typical surveyor, with world-class keynote speakers from the United Nations, World Bank, FIG and Trimble (our Platinum Sponsor). There are also be specially built technical sessions on the latest issues and developments, covering a wide range of application areas. As well as the international speakers already mentioned there will be speakers from South Africa, Canada, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. They will mix with national and local experts to bring multiple perspectives on every issue. There are several concurrent technical sessions and the organisers have tried to group papers according to topics and speaker availability. We will also be having a number of forums on topics of importance to various sectors of our Industry. The Cadastral Commission has joined with ICSM to present a forum on Cadastral Reform issues while a forum by the Positioning and Measurement Commission will examine the move from surveying and positioning infrastructure based on marks in the ground to a more virtual approach using GNSS base stations with delivery via internet and mobile phone. For those who want a full CPD experience, there are also some special topic workshops attached to end of the technical programme. As well as this strong professional and technical content, the organising committee has put together a relaxed and friendly social programme to enable you to network with your colleagues and to enjoy the sub-tropical climate of Brisbane with your partners and families. There is no specific accompanying persons program but outings and activities will be planned at the beginning of the conference.
